Half-Day Workshop
A fast-paced, engaging introduction to cut-out animation. Ideal as a taster session or arts module.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the basics of stop-motion (frame-by-frame movement, timing, continuity)
- Plan a simple narrative (beginning–middle–end)
- Design and construct simple paper characters and props
- Capture and edit a short animation sequence
- Work effectively in small teams
Outputs
- 10–30 second animated clip per group
- Basic understanding of workflow from idea to screen
Full-Day Workshop
A deeper, more structured experience allowing for refined storytelling and higher-quality animation.
Learning Outcomes:
- Apply core animation principles (timing, spacing, movement arcs)
- Develop stronger narratives and visual planning
- Build more detailed characters and layered sets
- Use lighting, camera stability, and continuity techniques
- Edit with titles, sound, and simple effects
- Reflect critically on process and outcomes
Outputs:
- 30–90 second animated short per group
- Improved technical control and storytelling skills
